More about Barley Wilde.

For most of Barley’s four decades on the planet, he can remember a strong connection with music and people.

Born in Newcastle, Australia, Barley has spent years honing his craft as a singer/songwriter, influenced over the years by the timeless sounds of legendary and inspirational musical leaders including The Beatles, Nirvana, Crowded House and The Tea Party.

The result is a magical infusion, a soulful display of rich acoustics and lyrics that cut to the core of emotion.

His recent collaboration with New York based group Outside Worship, has resulted in the release of his debut album, Medicine Tree. Many musical ideas were sent across the shores of a distance that would become known as The Gap.

Medicine Tree was eventually recorded in Brooklyn, New York by Barley and the members of Outside Worship including Phil Laegar, Marty Mikles and Anna Street and together they are Barley Wilde & The Gap. The songs evolved into demos, arrangements, instrumentation, vocals, backing vocals, harmonies, mixing, engineering and mastering that was all undertaken internally.

This stunning new album alternates between musical genres whilst maintaining individual story telling perspectives.
